    WELCOME TO GARDNERVILLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL!

We educate students from Pre-K, Kindergarten through 5th grade.

important information to know During school REOPENING due to Covid-19.   please VISIT THE DOUGLAS cOUNTY SCHOOLS WEBSITE FOR UP TO DATE INFORMATION ABOUT OUR 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR.

    Welcome Back

We are so excited to be welcome our students back to GES for the 2020/2021 school year!!

Parents, please note, there are a few changes that important for you to know:

School will resume on August 17th, 2020 at 8:50 am, this will also be out first "Early Out" day - dismissal will be at 1:44pm.  When you bring your student to school, please bring them as close to 8:45am as possible to help maintain the social distancing guidelines mandated by the Governor.

We are super excited that currently, our Pre-K thru 3rd grade students will be allowed to attend school daily, and during regular school scheduled hours.  We will be monitoring class numbers for 4th & 5th graders in hopes that they too with be able to safely return to school on a daily basis, however, for now, we will be following the A-day/B-day Hybrid schedule.

Our new student pick-up/drop off lane will no longer be in the front of the school, but will  be where the buses lined up last year, along the back fields in the direction flow from Toler, and out to Chichester.  The buses will now be using the lane in the front of the school, PLEASE DO NOT PARK THERE.  This change is to help to maintain physical distancing for our students during arrivals & dismissals.  Do not exit your vehicle as no parents will be allowed into the school building, on the playground or able to volunteer until restrictions have been changed.  Our #1 goal is the safety and well-being of our students and to allow them to stay in school, we will all need to work together to accomplish this.  Also, please make sure your student has a face covering, as they are required for your student to be in school, unless you have a doctors note stating they are not able to wear a mask, there will be no exceptions.  Finally, please check your student's temperature in the morning before sending them to school or if they are symptomatic.  If they have a fever, you must keep them home.   For a full overview of all the changes and requirements, please visit GES Facebook page and look for Mr. Brown's awesome video!

Be safe and see you soon!
